Deborah Ann Jaeckel passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Deborah or Debbie, as she was endearingly known to her family and friends, brought pure joy to everyone she met. Debbie was famous for her caring personality and positivity. She had an infectious sense of humor and told jokes to anyone who would listen. She always knew how to brighten people’s day.
Debbie lived a full, cherished life. Her fondest childhood memory was dressing up as Raggedy Ann, while her brother Travis dressed as Raggedy Andy, and winning first place in a costume contest at a major fair in New Mexico. Debbie spent her teenage years living on a kibbutz in Israel where she developed a love for the country. After she returned to the United States and graduated from Rangeview High School in Aurora, Colorado, Debbie returned to Israel and joined the Israeli Defense Forces. She spent three and a half years serving in a remote outpost on the Egyptian border before returning to the United States. Shortly after her return to the United States, Debbie became a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Medical Center where she found her true calling. Debbie proudly took care of hundreds of veterans during her 17 years at the Cheyenne VA. She loved every veteran she cared for and wanted to thank all the veterans for their service and sacrifice.
Debbie is survived by her mother Ellen Jaeckel; siblings Travis Jaeckel, Heather Jaeckel, and Leora Hoshall; and a niece, Keely Cleveland, and three nephews, Camden Cleveland, Kael Hoshall, and Elias Hoshall. Debbie’s niece and nephews were the light of her life, and as Debbie stated, “They made her a better person.” Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Martin Jaeckel.
