David W. Smallwood, age 74, passed away on October 29, 2026, in Cheyenne, WY. He was born on September 24, 1952, in Greeley, CO. He moved to Cheyenne as a baby with his parents.
He worked for Union Pacific for 34 years first as a brakeman and then as a conductor. He enjoyed fishing, photography, lapidary, and travel.
He is survived by wife Cathy Smallwood; son Jason (Irma) Smallwood; daughters Aimee Sorensen and Heather Schaffer; granddaughters Noel and Skye Sorensen, and Taylor Schaffer; step-grandchildren Jenny (Braden) Johnson and Aaron (Robin) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Marian Winslow Smallwood.
