Daniel B Spickard

June 23, 1955 — May 9, 2024

Daniel Bruce Spickard, of Cheyenne, formerly Erie, CO passed at home May 9, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1955, in Denver, CO to Kenneth Charles Spickard and Donna Leigh Pearce.
Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who was stationed in San Diego, CA; Camp Lejeune, NC; and Norfolk, VA where he became a certified surgical technician. After he was honorably discharged, the family moved back to Colorado.
Daniel worked at Boulder Memorial Hospital for 7 years, then Boulder Community Hospital for over 15 years. There he volunteered for many surgical missions to Mexico providing free surgeries to mainly children.
He loved riding his motorcycles, attending the Sturgis Bike Rally multiple times through the years with friends. He was always drawing, writing stories and poems which his family remembered with smiles. Daniel was a volunteer fireman with the Erie Fire Dept. and loved the adventure of it. He was active in the Boulder Seventh Day Adventist Church and would take time off many summers to help with Mission Impacts which provided free summer camps to kids on the various reservations around the country.
He is survived by his wife Cornelia (nee Newbold); daughters Amanda (Mike) Spanbauer of Berthoud, CO and Melissa (Craig) Blanckaert of La Salle, CO. Sister Karen Farris of Phoenix, AZ and brother James Spickard of Phoenix, AZ. Grandchildren Andy and Jakob Spanbauer; Aine, Laurana and Daegan Blanckaert.
Daniel was preceded in death by both his parents; brothers Kenneth Wayne Spickard and Mark Spickard; son Ryan Spickard; and grandson Willem Baran.
Services will be held June 21, 2024, at 2pm at the Wyoming National Cemetery. Hildreth Rd, Cheyenne, WY 82009
