Connie Schieck

Connie J. Schieck, lovingly known as "GaGa" by those who loved her most, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 92.

Born on July 7, 1933, in Valley City, North Dakota, Connie attended Florence High School in Florence, Colorado, graduating with the Class of 1951. She made Cheyenne her home in 1962, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and service. Connie dedicated 19 years of service as an Executive Assistant for multiple judges of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, earning the respect of colleagues through her dedication, professionalism, and kind heart.

Connie loved to travel whenever she had the opportunity, and she found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed gathering around the table for card games, watching game shows, classic movies and television shows, and spending time with friends and family.

She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter BA, Harmony Chapter No. 53 Order of the Eastern Star, and the X-JWC of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Through these organizations, Connie formed lasting friendships and found meaningful ways to serve her community.

Although much of her family lived outside of Cheyenne in her later years, Connie continued to live independently, surrounded by an extraordinary village of friends. Their companionship, kindness, and unwavering support brought her comfort, laughter, and joy—not to mention cheeseburgers, groceries, and countless bridge games. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to these cherished friends, whose love and care meant more than words can express.

Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Schieck; her son, Richard Piscitella, Jr.; her brother, Bob Olson, and sister-in-law, Doris "Skip" Olson of Cañon City, Colorado; her aunt, Betty Koebernick of Valley City, North Dakota; her brother-in-law, Jim Schieck; her sister-in-law, Beth Schieck; their son, Tommy; her sister-in-law, Jean Meisberger of New Jersey; and her daughters-in-law, April Kitzberger and Tyra Wade.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Wetherbee-Kuehn and her husband, Keith, of Yorktown, Virginia; Tucker Jones; and Trista Jones-Hobbs, both of Florida. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, Brayden Dahl, Lyla Dahl, Isabelle Jones, Ethan Jones, Olivia Jones, Chase Hobbs, and Connor Hobbs; her son-in-law, Bryan Sandlian and his wife, Anne; her niece, Traci O'Connor and her husband, Scott, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and her nephews, Ron Price and his wife, Erin, and Jay Price, both of Cañon City, Colorado; daughter-in-law Crystal Nelson and her husband Hal.

Connie will be remembered for her strength, generous spirit, enduring friendships, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved "GaGa."

A memorial service will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at Connie's home.
