Clyde Harland Thompson, 91, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025.
Born September 5, 1933, to Daniel and Elizabeth Thompson, Clyde grew up with a love for both sports and the outdoors. In high school, he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, a passion for athletics that carried into his lifelong love of the outdoors.
After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954, Clyde pursued higher education at the University of Wyoming, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. His career first took him to Washington State with Boeing, and later to Arizona, where he built a long and rewarding career with Goodyear Aerospace until his retirement.
An avid sportsman, Clyde found joy in fishing, bird hunting, trap shooting, and training hunting dogs. His passion for trapshooting led him to develop his own program, through which he traveled to several states to run and organize events, leaving a lasting mark on the sport he loved.
Clyde shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jerilyn L. Thompson, before her passing in 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife Jerilyn, his parents Daniel and Elizabeth, and his brother Russell.
He is survived by his children Michael (Barbara), Laurie, and Geoffrey (Pamela); grandchildren Joseph (Caitlyn), Mikayla (Evan), Lee, and Shelby (Justin); Sister Florence, and six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his adventurous spirit, and his love of both sports and the outdoors.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 3, 2025, at Pine Bluffs Cemetery in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming.
