The world become a little less bright on March 29, 2026, with the peaceful passing of Chris Chocas.
Chris was a loving & devoted husband, father, Pop Pop & friend. Even though it was the cancerous tumors & agonizing pain that took him from us way too soon, he managed to live life to the fullest. A life defined by courage, strength & perseverance, and his resilience through it all was an inspiration.
Chris was born on October 26, 1958 to Jim & Germaine Chocas in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad two weeks out of high school with the Signal Department and then transferred to be a Switch Engine Conductor where he continued to work until he sustained a shoulder injury.
Chris also worked as a Representative for Bremseth Law Firm. He worked with the late Ric Hanson and now Head Investigator John Hiatt. Chris enjoyed working with Bremseth Law Firm in helping assist injured railroaders with spinal injuries.
Chris was the luckiest man alive when he found his wife of 31 years, Petie Chocas. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially with his granddaughter/buddy Addi. Anyone who knew Chris, knew he could talk to anyone and made friends & acquaintances everywhere he went. If a person had to ever question whether or not they had met Chris, they probably hadn’t, because he was a man that you’d never forget, so vibrant & full of life and one that would leave an impact on your life.
Chris is survived by his wife Petie, his brother Greg & his wife Tracy, his sister Connie, his daughter Kendra & her husband Paul, his son Jerod & his wife Jen, his grandkids Addi, Chelsey & her daughter Raegan, Colby & his wife Brooklynn and their soon to be baby girl.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents Jim & Germaine Chocas.
In honor of Chris’s final wishes, there will be no Funeral, Memorial or Celebration of Life services.
