Listen to Obituary

Cheryl A. Brolyer died May 11, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming with her beloved husband Ed, daughter Sarah, and sister Diane at her side.

Cheryl was born April 22, 1951, to Edward and Catherine Brantz. She was the first child of seven and as firstborn she was a natural leader, high achiever, well organized, and responsible. She was indispensable in helping raise her younger siblings.

Cheryl excelled at school and had a beautiful singing voice. She graduated High School in 1969, winning top academic honors, excelling in leadership positions, and joining choirs, concerts, and plays. She was a delightful performer, dazzling her audience at every opportunity.

She married Lon Hubbard in 1976 and gave birth to her daughter Sarah, one of the greatest joys of her life and her best friend.

Cheryl was also academically gifted, attending Sheridan College and the University of Wyoming, obtaining a master’s degree in business and accounting and acquired her Certified Public Accountant license. She worked for the State of Wyoming and retired in 2014. She was President, served on the board, and was an enthusiastic member of the Wyoming CPA Society, as well as a Council member for the AICPA, and an active member of the woman’s civic league.

Then, Cheryl met Ed, a fellow CPA. Talking about work turned into shooting pool, then glorious adventures together, and deep abiding love. They were married August 23, 2003, and built a wonderful life together. They loved to dance, and moved beautifully in concert on the dance floor and in life. Cheryl enjoyed reading, outdoor adventures, trivia and card games with family and friends and, always, dancing. She was extraordinarily generous with everything she had, and loved helping those she cared about.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Catherine Brantz; and  sister, Gloria Brantz. She is survived by her husband, Ed Brolyer; daughter, Sarah Hubbard; stepchildren, Karin Anderson, Lonnie Hubbard, Justin Brolyer, Christy Mestel; three grandchildren, Nathan, Carter, and Brooke; siblings, Carol Henson, Diane Ford, Edward Brantz Jr, Thomas Brantz, and Donald Brantz, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the WYCPA Society Education Fund, admin@wyocpa.org, or call (307) 634-7039.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brolyer home, 2483 Wildhorse Trail Cheyenne, WY 82009, July 11, from 1:00pm-5:00pm.
