Carolyn Sue Varra

Carolyn Sue (Legg) Varra passed on May 24, 2025, at CRMC in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her sparkling blue eyes and ready smile showed her warm and loving nature. She passionately embraced caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals and baking homemade bread and cookies.

In recent years she enjoyed visiting with friends and family, reading, watching the Weather Channel and America’s Got Talent, and listening to music, especially Mantovani and Andrea Bocelli.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 61 years, Robert J. Varra. She was also predeceased by her parents Edward Legg and Glenna Rotar, siblings Johnny Mathis, Becky Stroud, James Mathis and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her children Jeana (Patrick) Byrne, Robert (Mari) Varra, Angela Varra Morson, Patrick Varra and partner Amy, and Edward (Althea) Varra. She is survived by grandchildren Eric Varra, Kara Byrne, Brendan Byrne, Andy Carroll, Daniel Carroll, Caitlin Morson, Shane Morson, Joseph Murray, Monica Murray, Allison Varra and Alexander Varra.

The family would like to thank Bash for her loyal caregiving, fire and EMS personnel, the staff at CRMC emergency room and ICU for their dedicated care. Special thanks to Fr. Michael Carr, for the long-time friendship, care and support for all of us.

A public viewing will be on Thursday May 29 from 4-6 pm. A Vigil for the deceased will follow at 7:00 pm both are located at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, 1900 E. 19th St. Funeral Liturgy will be at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 2107 Capitol Ave, on Friday May 30 at 10:30 am followed by interment at Olivet Cemetery, 801 E Pershing Blvd. Reception to follow. 

She was well loved. She will be missed.
