Carol Sue Barber

January 22, 1945 — June 10, 2025

Cheyenne

Carol S. Barber, 80, of Cheyenne, was reunited with her husband, Jim, on their 53rd wedding anniversary on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, Colorado surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 22, 1945, in Storm Lake, Iowa to Homer and LuVerne Jackson. As a child, Carol moved to Idaho Springs, CO and lived there until she graduated high school. She moved to Kansas for college then to Cheyenne, where she met the love of her life, Jim. Jim and Carol were married June 10, 1972, in Cheyenne where they spent most of their years. Carol had a zest for life and learning; while always wanting to complete her degree, she went back to the University of Wyoming and obtained her degree in History in 1995 at the ripe age of 50. She utilized her degree at the Wyoming State Archives where she helped preserve many valuable photos. Carol fought a courageous battle of breast cancer for more than 30 years. She was a warrior in every sense of the word, and she fought selflessly. Carol enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Survivors include a brother, Robert Jackson (Janice), her children Michael Barber (Barbara), Emily Barber (Mike) and Theresa Barber (Andrew), 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and an amazing Sister-In-Law, Bonnie. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, infant daughter, Allison, parents LuVerne and Homer, as well as sisters Janette, Shirley, and JoAnn.

Vigil for the Deceased will be 5:00PM June 16, 2025, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel in Cheyenne. Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30AM June 17, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church followed by a small reception.
