Listen to Obituary

Bruce Weiss, 74 years of age, peacefully passed into eternity on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Granite Rehabilitation.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on September 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with fellowship and lunch following at the Gathering Place.

Life began for Bruce in North Platte, Nebraska, on April 18, 1951, the first-born child of Jack and Carnelia Weiss, this young family made Cheyenne their home. Bruce graduated from Cheyenne Central in 1970 where he was involved in ROTC. Upon graduation, Bruce joined the Navy, following in his father’s footsteps. A medical discharge followed boot camp due to the first of four cancer diagnoses Bruce would receive throughout his life. Bruce worked with his father and brother, Randy, in the construction industry, followed by a long career in the roofing supply business where Bruce retired.

Bruce was a quiet man who enjoyed simple things: Breakfast at Perkins, coffee with friends, keeping apprised of politics and news, and learning and remembering random facts. He collected baseball cards, comic books, stamps and coins since he was young. Most of all, Bruce loved and enjoyed his dog, Jody.

He is survived by his sister and family: Colleen and Robert Dunn, Hayes, Emily (Will), and Chloe. Sister-in-Law Amy Weiss and family: Kyle (Lindsay), Keith (Tracy), and Danielle (Steven). Great nieces and nephews: Kelsey, Jaysen, Abby, Cole, Jace, and Desmin.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy, as well as Jody, his dog.

Special thanks to Craig Hanesworth for all your help and care of Bruce. He said he didn’t know what he would do without you. To all the friends who visited Bruce with chocolate shakes and cheeseburgers, mowed his lawn, picked up mail, and cared so much, thank you is not enough.

“And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Rev. 21:4

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” I Cor. 2:9

We rejoice that Bruce is home with Jesus, his Lord and Savior!
