Bergetta June Patton

Bergetta June Patton passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was 82 years old.

Bergetta was born on June 17, 1943, to Alice (Conwell) and Orville Carley. She and her husband Jim settled in Cheyenne after living in Santa Rosa, California. Their home was always the place where the neighborhood kids would hang out. Bergetta was like a mom to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister, Bonnie Carley, daughter, Jamie and husband, James Patton.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Alvin Carley (Barbara); her sons, Michael (Kathrine), Perry, and Joseph; her grandchildren, Brandon (Tracy), Jordon, Jacob, Emilee, Abby, and Jack; and her great-grandchildren, Madison, Chaney, Ella, and Colby. She is also survived by many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Bergetta worked for many years as a library assistant with Laramie County School District Number One, where she enjoyed helping students and staff and made many lasting friendships. Bergetta also worked as the Administrative Assistant for Cheyenne Evangelical Free church.

She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family at Pelton Creek and Fox Park. She was a member of the “Knit Wits” knitting club and enjoyed knitting stuffed animals and frogs.

Bergetta was always smiling. She laughed easily and her laughter was infectious. She had a great sense of humor would often joke with and tease her friends and family.

Anyone who knew her knew she genuinely cared about them and anything they might be going through.

We miss her.

A celebration of Bergetta’s life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate her life together.
