Barbara Marie Lambert

July 8, 1942 — August 6, 2023

Barbara Marie Lambert, 81, of Cheyenne, passed early morning August 5, 2023.
After a courageous battle of cancer for 1 ½ years, she left us to go to her heavenly home. She was surrounded by her friend and caregiver, Sally Jo Larson, a friend Denice Burns Simon and may loved ones who had her in their hearts and prayers. Those who knew her will never forget her fight and positive outlook on her illness. We will of course never forget the big, beautiful smile that would melt your heart and light up the room.
Barbara was born on July 8, 1942 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Joseph and Besse Gette.
She moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming and worked for the railroad. There she met the love of her life, Buddy Allen. For 18 years they enjoyed their married life of fishing, camping, snowmobiling, at traveling until Buddy passe away.
In the 1980’s Barbara moved to Cheyenne. She worked at the Airport Golf Course and Two Bar Bowl as a bartender. She met Lee Snow and was his companion for 18 years. In later years, when he became sick, she would be his only caregiver, until he passed in 2017.
Barbara was an avid reader and you would always find her nose buried in a book. She enjoyed bowling and went to and won many state tournaments. He favorite sport was golfing. She was so proud when she got a Hole in One.
Watching football was a favorite pastime. She was so excited to go to San Diego for Superbowl XXXII in 1998 and watch the Broncos become Superbowl champs.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; 3 siblings; husband, Buddy Allen; and companion, Lee Snow.
She is survived by a sister, Marilyn Edwards, of Georgetown, Texas; a brother, Michael Gette of Jamestown, California; and Sally Jo Larson, her friend and caregiver..
Sally would like to thank the following: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Home Care Service. The nurse’s and physical therapists were compassionate and caring. To the CRMC Transport System drivers. Everyone of them were so patient and helped getting us to Barbara’s radiation, chemotherapy treatments, and doctor’s appointments. To Davis Hospice Center, they made Barbara’s wish to stay in her home. The compassion of her regular nurse, Tiffany, and all the CAN’s who came to help was so appreciated.
Per her request, there will be no funeral services. Remember her beautiful soul and that smile. May we one day find a cure for all cancers.
