On October 2, 2025, our beloved English Rose, Alice Barbara Joyce Schaffer of Cheyenne dropped her petals and went to heaven to be with her husband Frank, her mother and father and her sister Colleen.
Alice was born in London England on March 1, 1939. She met Frank when he was with the USAF stationed in London. They were married November 10, 1958, in London. Alice then came to the U.S. and was with him at their numerous duty stations. Selfridge A.F.B. Michigan, Scott A.F.B. Illinois, F.E. Warren A.F.B. and Bentwaters A.F.B. England. They chose to come back to Cheyenne in 1974 to raise their family and finally had a permanent place they loved to call home.
Alice worked for 30 years as a Non-appropriated Fund employee for 90th Services Squadron, F.E. Warren A.F.B. The positions Alice served in were Nursery Attendant at the Base nursery, Waitress/Wait Leader, Cashier, at the Officers and NCO clubs and Accounting Technician at the accounting office receiving numerous awards for her outstanding service to the public. Alice retired May 16, 2003.
Alice then enjoyed her time traveling the world with her husband visiting Russia, China, Egypt, Alaska and numerous cruises. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and family enjoying birthdays and holidays.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents Oswald and Annie, her sister Colleen and her husband Frank whom she missed every day.
Alice is survived by her kids Francis (Linda), Dawn (Dennis) and Mark (Rick). Her grandkids Sonny, Hailey and Heather. Brother Tony (Sadie), sisters Pat (Jim), Coral and Yvonne and many nieces and nephews around the world.
Services for Frank and Alice will be private with the family. In lieu of cards and flowers please donate to The Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
