Albert Byron Tharp (82) of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away on November 27, 2025, at UC Health Anschutz inpatient Pavilion 2, Aurora, Colorado. Albert was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on May 8, 1943, to Alice May and Albert Ray Tharp. He attended Cheyenne High School and East High school class of 1961. Albert worked for numerous trade contractors, Swede Roofing, Keyt Foundations Cheyenne Housing, Phelps Construction, Montgomery Wards, retiring from Civil Service Engineering, Cheyenne Jr. League baseball, Cheyenne Field Archers and Wyoming Senior Olympics (Archery Event).
Albert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary, who played a central role in his life. He was a devoted father to five children: John (Chris), J. Kurt, Stephanie, Kevin, and Justin (Becky). He was also a treasured grandfather to his twelve grandchildren: Tristen, (Shaun), Kassy (Jimmy), Justin, Melissa, Kasey (Josie), Kaela (Eric), Reba, Alice, AJ, and Brayden and twelve great-grandchildren. His surviving family members include his sisters Delphia Johnson, Alice Gibson (Larry), and Carlene Schaefer (Deloss) and sister-in-law(s) Margaret Johnson, Sandra Tharp, Patricia East, Karen Ali (Amir), and as well as brother-in-law(s) Michael (Pam) and Robert Milligan and Jimi Miller. He is also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Albert Tharp; brother, Roger Tharp; sister, Mary Lou Linville; in-laws, Thomas and Wanda Milligan; brother-in-law, Jack Johnson, Thomas and James Milligan, Tim East, and Charles Linville; sister-in-law, Susan Miller; two grandchildren, Alana Dalton, Kevin Daniel Tharp, two great-granddaughters, Kinley Jo and Amelia Grace Tharp.
