    Lloyd W. Jewell

    September 3, 1930 - June 16, 2022

Lloyd W. Jewell, 91, of Cheyenne passed away June 16, 2022, at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 3, 1930, in Burns, Wyoming to Oral and Anna (Nelson) Jewell. His family grew up in Burns they all worked hard on the Ranch. Once hitting adulthood Lloyd was drafted into the US Army. He trained for the war but never was able to fight. He joked that he peeled a lot of potatoes instead. In 1969 he met the love of his life Dianne and in 1971 they married. Their son, Randy joined them in 1973. In all the years of marriage they never fought or yelled at each other. Lloyd’s heart belonged to Dianne from day one. In 1973 they moved to Cheyenne Lloyd started working at Husky Truck Stop and was there for many years. Lloyd loved horses and anything that had to do with them. He was very much involved in rodeos, being a bronc rider, he loved the thrill. Whether he watched or was in them he loved every minute of it. Cheyenne Frontier Days was his favorite time of the year all the cowboys and rodeo he fit right in. He was also a simple man he enjoyed life and the simple things it had to offer, the more western the better. Lloyd is survived by his son, Randy (Cheril); grandchildren, Vernon (Zach Robinson) Shunn, and Whitney (Kevin) Frank; great-grandchildren, Zacchaeus, Destinie, and Kimber; nephews, Kenny and Sonny; niece, Anna; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was proceeded by his parents and four brothers. A private family service will be held at a later date.
