Eleanor “Ellie” Anne Farris, 80, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on October 8, 2020, due to complications from COPD at Davis Hospice Center. Ellie was born January 22, 1940 in St. Louis, MO, to Robert and Natalie (Jones) Wolf. She is survived by her husband, Bert Farris, sons Tony Farris (Tracy Taylor), Charlie Farris, and Joe Farris (Otty); grandchildren Christian Farris (Heather), Anthony Farris (Kiera), and Danielle Satton (Zach) all of Denver; Cody Farris and Cheyanne Farris of Cheyenne; Devany Farris (Ryan Zuniga) and Skye Farris of Cheyenne; great-grandchildren Lucas and Logan Farris of Denver; brother Ken Wolf (Donna) of St. Charles, MO; sister Nikki Graham (Ross) of Marleton, NJ; sisters-in-law Marjorie Faris Kissel (Paul) of Florida, Suzanne Sands (Dale) of Rosedale, Alberta, CA, and Doris Snider (Lou) of Arizona; brothers-in-law Mike Craig (Olga) of Cheyenne and Larry Harris (Judy) of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; and her very close friends Monica Lane, Edie Biggio and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Natalie and Robert Wolf. Ellie was an outstanding athlete in her youth, graduating from Normandy High School in St. Louis, where she was a outstanding sprinter and jumper. She attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC where she met her future husband Bert. After they married on June 27, 1960 they moved to Cheyenne. She worked as personnel manager for Sears Roebuck for over 25 years and then took a position with DFS at the State of Wyoming where she retired after 20 years. Ellie was an avid bowler in many adult leagues in Cheyenne. She also was a fast pitch softball catcher in adult leagues in Cheyenne where often times she had the highest batting average of around .800. She enjoyed hunting with her boys. In her later years she spent time watching her grandchildren compete in athletics and perform in activities. She also enjoyed traveling to visit relatives and the occasional casino. She enjoyed sewing projects, reading, flower gardening, puzzles, crosswords, and her beloved pets, most recently Missy. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, 1900 E. 19th Street, Cheyenne, WY. The services will be live streamed for those unable to attend.
